Sound Healing: Harmonizing Mind, Body, and Spirit

I use sound in some form or another in all of my healing sessions, including remote sessions. I find that sound helps my clients remove distortion blocks, and restore resonance and harmony in the mind body complex, it also helps me achieve a higher state of focus and connection during each session.

The sound utilized in my practice can involve a variety of instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, drums, and my voice. Each is used to produce frequencies that resonate with different parts of the body and energy body, helping to restore balance and facilitate healing.

Often, the sound I use comes through my voice in the form of Light Codes. This is channeled higher density energy through frequency of sound. This may be interpreted as the sound equivalent of “light”. These frequencies vibrate at a rate that will cause aspects of the subtle body to shift to a more optimal frequency. For some, this can be a major release and activation.

Sound in Creation

Hermeticism explains that life is the union of mind (light) and word (sound). The belief that sound is fundamental to the building of our reality is widespread, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.

Sound is at the core of our existence and the creation of the universe, this is not just a spiritual belief, there is scientific evidence supporting this notion.

If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”-
— Nikola Tesla

Science of Sound

Cymatics is the science of sound made visible. Frequency is applied to a flat surface coated in a media such as water, and patterns and forms emerge.

These patterns, known as Chladni figures, illustrate how sound frequencies can create order and structure out of chaos, hinting at how primordial sounds could have shaped the cosmos.

In Quantum Mechanics we can see on a sub atomic level that everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration. These vibrations determine the state and behavior of matter. Nothing is static, everything is literally in a state of vibration.

How Sound Can Help Us

In western medicine, we use sound to create images and diagnose, to destroy tumors and non-beneficial cells, to break up physical blocks, like kidney stones and gallstones. In energy healing we can use sound to break up energetic blocks, activate the vagus nerve, and create a space that allows for relaxation and focus.

Research has shown that sound can have a profound impact on our brain waves. For instance, listening to certain frequencies can induce a state of deep relaxation, similar to the effects of meditation. This is achieved through entrainment, where the brain’s electrical activity aligns with the rhythm of the sound waves.

Sound can reduce stress and anxiety, lower cortisol levels, improve sleep, alleviate pain, release energetic blockages, allow emotional and energetic release.

At its core, sound healing is based on the concept of resonance – the idea that everything in the universe, including our bodies, vibrates at specific frequencies. When our bodies are in a state of health, everything vibrates harmoniously. However, stress, illness, or negative emotions can cause these vibrations to become dissonant. Sound healing aims to correct these imbalances by introducing harmonious frequencies that encourage the body to re-tune itself.

How to Use Sound in Your Energetic Practice

Humming to Activate the Vagus Nerve

Why It Works: Humming produces vibrations that stimulate the vagus nerve, which is integral to the parasympathetic nervous system responsible for relaxation and calming the body.

How to Do It: Simply hum at a comfortable pitch for a few minutes. You can do this anywhere—at home, during a walk, or while sitting in traffic. Focus on the sensations in your throat and chest as you hum. You can also hum “Om” (or Aum), which in Hinduism is considered the primordial sound from which the universe was created. Humming Om connects you to the original vibration of creation.

Listen to Healing Frequencies Before Bed

Why It Works: Listening to specific sound frequencies before sleep can help calm the mind and body, making it easier to fall asleep and improve sleep quality.

How to Do It: Explore playlists of healing frequencies on platforms like YouTube or music streaming services. Look for sounds in the frequency range of 432 Hz or 528 Hz, which are often associated with relaxation and healing. Create a calming bedtime routine by playing these frequencies while winding down, perhaps combining them with dim lighting and gentle stretching or deep breathing exercises.

Schedule a Private Session with Me

Why It Works: Personalized sessions allow for targeted healing, addressing your specific needs and energetic blocks.
